The first store opened in the 1950s in the Stockholm Area. The company name was changed to Domus in the late 1960s/early 1970s when the stores grew and turned into bigger supermarkets that did not only concentrate on selling food. However, in Denmark, the Danish equivalent of 'konsumentföreningen' decided to start a sister chain with stores named ''Kvickly'' in the early 1960s, where the name is still in use.
